    Anti-racism education

    This project began as a collaboration between teaching schools in Sheffield with the development of lessons and resources to support teachers deliver Anti-Racism education. Recognising the value of these resources, they wanted to create a website where the lessons and supporting materials could be shared for any schools to access.

    After working with the Friends of the Botanical Gardens, Sheffield, I was contacted by the Trust to also update their website. Regular collaborator Kate Moorhouse created a brand identity which I incorporated into the website, along with some photographs from the Trust to really bring it to life and showcase the vibrant and beautiful Gardens.

  • A webpage titled 'Rethink. Reform. Revalue.' discussing restructuring business models and supply chains for a more equitable economy. Contains sections on broader project goals, recent reports on labor exploitation, and a list of topics in colored boxes with dates, including due diligence, commercial contracts, investment patterns, labor share, worker debt, social auditing, and ethical certification, with some labeled 'Coming Soon.' Footer mentions a collaboration between Stanford, Yale, and other institutions.

    Re:Structure Lab

    Re:Structure Lab is a collaboration between Stanford University, Simon Fraser University and Yale University set up to research the rebuilding of supply chains amidst the pandemic with a focus on fair labour standards. I worked with Sheffield creative agency Cafeteria to build a website on Squarespace which showcases the briefs and the team behind this vital research.

    A lockdown side project of mine, Own Beat was a popup digital magazine for people who live life a little bit differently.

  • An informational webpage about a food charity organization called 'The Bread and Butter Thing.' It features sections about their mission, impact, podcast, partnerships, and volunteer opportunities, with images of people, food, and maps, and uses bright colors like yellow, blue, green, and pink.

    I worked with Fiona from The Bread and Butter Thing to move their website to the newer version of Squarespace and use this as a chance to update the design and layout to make it much more user-friendly and less cluttered.

    Caroline got in touch because she wanted a website to showcase her expertise and credibility as an energy and carbon consultant. I collaborated with Kate from Solo Design Studio, who designed Caroline’s brand identity and worked with me to create a simple four page website on Squarespace that had a visual impact.

    Rachel got in touch for a refresh of her old, dated website. She wanted a modern site that reflected both the professionalism of her medical and health journalism and the creativity of new projects that she had recently started. We also focused on making her name very prominent across the site and in the search engine settings to differentiate her from another journalist with the same name.

    The Loneliness Lab was created to share knowledge and resources around tackling loneliness in cities, and has become a hub for information and connection. They already had a Squarespace website, but wanted to refresh it to reflect the growing interest in the project. Heather Knight created an updated brand and illustrations, along with mockups for the key pages, and I built a new website to incorporate her designs.

  • I can take payments via bank transfer in CAD, GBP and USD. Card payments are available on request, but will have a small processing fee added.

  • I usually invoice half upfront and half on completion of the project. Your first invoice needs to be paid in order to secure your spot in my schedule :)

  • On average, between 6-8 weeks depending on how much you have ready beforehand. We can go faster or slower depending on your needs!

  • All website packages include a ~20 minute training video specific to your website, with instructions on how to update it yourself.

    Additional support is available on request, training sessions start at C$185 (£100) for up to 90 minutes.

  • For a typical project:

    • We have an initial chat over Zoom

    • If you’re happy to go ahead I send you a simple contract to sign electronically and invoice for the first half of the work

    • Once those are signed and paid, I schedule you in and put together a timeline

    • You send me over the relevant information (my website checklist contains an overview of everything you need to provide)

    • I get started on a draft design and share a link to a password-protected live version of the site, so you can see how it looks on your computer and phone

    • You provide feedback and if needed we book in another call at this point

    • I implement any feedback and normally there will be a few revisions

    • Once you’re happy with the website, I give you admin access for you to add your billing information

    • I connect up the domain to the new website (or help you buy a domain if you don’t have one)

    • We put the site live!

    • I record training videos for you so you can update it yourself in the future

    • You pay the invoice for the second half of the work

    • I transfer ownership of the site to you (but normally stay on as an admin)

  • I focus specifically on web design so if you’re looking for a full logo and brand creation package, you will need to work with a graphic designer. I can recommend people if needed.
